This special anniversary broadcast features highlights from a special live event that was held on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the McAninch Arts Center on the campus of College of DuPage, in honor of TWTD’s 55th anniversary. Some 400 listeners were in attendance, with all ticket sales going to benefit WDCB, the radio home of Those Were the Days since 2001. This anniversary celebration featured musical performances from guitarist Diamond Jim Greene, pianist Reginald Robinson and guitarist Joel Paterson. There were appearances from longtime TWTD contributors Bob Kolososki and Karl Pearson, WDCB’s Barry Winograd, and a special edition of the Those Were the Days Radio Players, featuring Trace Beaulieu (Mystery Science Theater 3000), Will Clinger (Wild Chicago), Rich Koz (Svengoolie), Bill Leff (Toon in With Me), Rachel Lichtman (Easy AM 66), Scott Lowell (Queer as Folk) and many other local luminaries of stage and broadcasting.
