In this first show Chuck recaps the early vision of David Sarnoff in1916. Sarnoff noted a plan to make radio a household utility bringing music and entertainment to homes in cities and rural areas across the country.

A rare 1934 broadcast of Billy Jones and Ernie Hare “The Happiness Boys” Clips from early radio broadcasts, appearances by Fibber McGee & Molly, Red Skelton, Eddie Cantor, Jimmy Durante, Frank Sinatra on the Amatuer Hour with the Hoboken Four, a section on the famous Soap Operas,
the WLS National Barn Dance plus much more.
Unlike the Those Were The Days program now, these early shows were interrupted by local and National news segments with items that were current in 1970.
